She was preceded in death by her husband, Klaas Hemmes.

She is survived by her daughter Joannie Beverwyk of Comstock Park; her grandsons, Timothy D. Beverwyk of Cedar Springs, Mark A. Beverwyk of Dorr, and Mike Marcia Zaroff-Harmandez of CA; two great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Annie Siesling of Grand Rapids and Mia Rinket of the Netherlands; niece Remmie Peter Bus of the Netherlands; and her good friend Reina Bogema of Jenison.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 9 from the Cook Funeral Home, 1889 Baldwin St. in Jenison, with Rev. David Piell officiating.

Interment will be in Rosedale Memorial Park.

The family will meet with relatives and friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home in Jenison.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
