Jack was a quiet, modest man who loved and cared for his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a die maker for Packaging Corporation of America for 37 years. He had a very contagious laugh and blessed his entire family with the gift of laughter. He enjoyed watching ships come and go at various Great Lakes ports, either in person at Soo Locks, or later in life via webcam. He also created lampstands, clocks, tables, chests, stools, quilt racks, and wooden tommy guns for his boys with his Shopsmith Mark 5 purchased from Montgomery Ward.
A celebration of Jack’s life will commence at noon Thursday, December 14, 2023, with visitation one hour prior starting at 11 a.m., at Grandville United Methodist Church, 3140 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Pastor Ryan Wieland will be officiating. In honor Jack and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to SECOM (South End Community Outreach Ministries - a food distribution center). The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresgrandville.com in their guest book online.
