William "Bill" Van Dam

William “Bill” Van Dam, age 86, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, October 5, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Minnie Van Dam; first wife, Ruth Van Dam; brother, Norm Van Dam; sister-in-law, Amy Martin; brother-in-law, Daryle Martin.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 26 years, Esther Van Dam; children Nancy (Rob) Kennicott, Steve Van Dam, and Todd (Lavonne) Halsey; grandchildren Leah Kennicott, Rachel (Alex) Smith, Jayne (Rick) Browley, Steven (Katie) Kennicott, Hannah (John) Nagelkerk, and Blake Halsey; great-grandchildren Jack Ruben, Olivia and Molly Smith, Taryn, Rickey, and McKenna Browley; siblings Harriet Stanaback, Dorothy Mesbergen, and Ron (Mary) Van Dam; in-laws Lu (Ardath) Martin, Bob Martin, Jan Martin, Al (Jan) Martin; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bill loved his Lord and Savior, he loved his family, and his wife of 26 years. Bill was known for his loving kindness and his ability to fix anything.

Visitation with relatives and friends will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Cook Funeral Home 2067-84th St, Byron Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Byron Center Bible Church, 8855 Byron Center Ave. SW, Byron Center, 49315. Pastor McGee and Pastor Tuinstra will be officiating. Interment is at Jones Cemetery.

In honor of Bill and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Byron Center Bible Church - Mission’s Fund or Spectrum Health Hospice.
