William Edward McConnon

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, his son Patrick, and his wives Dorothy and Marilyn.

He is survived by his children Mary (Joe) Davis, Margaret (Ken) Schwartz, Tom (Renee) McConnon, Michele (Mike) Jacoby, Phil (Michelle) McConnon, Monica (Bill) Rietveld and Sean (Ann) McConnon; 22 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, sisters Eva DeVormer and Mary O’Connor; brother Rich (Ellen) McConnon, and many nieces and nephews.

William worked for 17 years for Firestone Tire. For 30 years he was the owner of Nykamp Tire, but was always a farmer at heart. He will be forever remembered with a twinkle in his eye and a big hello for everyone he met.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, April 28, 2016 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave., Byron Center, MI. The family will receive friends and family from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Cook Funeral Home (Byron Center Chapel), 2067 84th St. SW, Byron Center. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bill’s honor may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Mel Trotter Ministries, or the Salvation Army.
