Wyomie "Omie" A. Tanis

TANIS Mrs. Wyomie "Omie" A. Tanis, age 73, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014. Omie was born November 15, 1941 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Charles and Roseline (Akau) Pawai. Omie will be remembered for her generous spirit, her love of family, and being actively involved at her church, Wesley Park United Methodist. She loved opening her home to everyone as a host, especially to provide one of her special meals. She also enjoyed her Hawaiian dancing club, and will be fondly remembered for her 50 years of marriage to her "Honey", Marv. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Tanis; daughter, Mitzi; parents, Charles and Roseline; and brothers, Johnny, Junior, and Hiram Pawai.

Surviving are her children and grandchildren, Ty and Lindy Tanis (Ciara and Kirgin), and Kamron and Mary Tanis (Leilani, Kalani, and Trace), and Mitzi's children, Keone and Mandy; four great grandchildren; sisters and brother, Esther, Kay, Vivian, and Richard; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 AM at Wesley Park United Methodist, 1150 32nd Street SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Dean Prentiss officiating. Interment will be at Winchester Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet Omie's family Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Cook Funeral Home (west building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville and Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of her service at church.
