We all still remember Coffee Tony with affection. Miss you Tony

Countless Tony memories! He was always there for us. The HiLo Christmas tree, coffee, keys …. He loved secretarying meetings. I could always depend on him to help at the club or at our home. Last Christmas our power went out. Tony drove over, snow and all and slid into the hill on the driveway. But he made it and got the generator going for us. 

He never truly realized how much he meant to all in our AA community. So many remember how kindly he greeted them, helped them find their way, helped  them get into service. Tony always said how he loved the program, how it restored a life he loved living, even when he was hurting. I will miss him, but have lots of sweet memories that bring a smile. 

Tony loved football season. We love Tony. 

Tony and I watched football every week. Rooting for the 49er’s and the Chiefs. I would get down on the niners and he’d say they might come back and sometimes they would surprise us. It was a lot of fun getting together and because of Covid it was special to get together with anyone.Jen and I loved Tony he was a great friend!

A Tribute to Anthony (Tony) Licata

Anthony (Tony) Licata who recently passed away, was the beloved father of Paul Licata,  Terri Henry,  Kimberly Hayes.   He was a tough guy with a tender heart.  He was a tough guy who raced cars, was a gas station owner and a construction worker.  He had a tender heart in that during WWII he prayed with our Grandmother Licata for the safe return of all our relatives overseas in the military.  He had a tender heart in that he spearheaded pre-Covid family gatherings.

As a teenager I can recall picking fruit with Tony in our Grandfather Anthony Licata’s orchard.  What I remember is that he was always so much faster than I was—a professional fruit picker!

In talking with Tony in his later years, I discovered that he lived with Grandma and Grandpa Licata during WWII.  What was intriguing was that at a certain time of the day, he stated that Grandma Licata would tell him that it was time to get on their knees and pray for all our relatives overseas in the military—as a result, every one of those relatives including Tony’s uncle Sam Licata made it home safely.  Sam was a front-line medic in Okinawa and he was featured in a book, The Last Good War, in which he wrote: “I could feel the power of my mother’s prayers.  Felt to me that I was just lifted up, floating on air. I could hear her voice, too.”  Tony had the awesome privilege of praying with a powerful woman of God who had reared and cared for thirteen children during the Great Depression.  That surely was a life-changing experience!

I just loved Tony he was such a big part of our AA club and community.  Always ready to be on the committees for gatherings Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas,  SuperBowl. He was kind of the King of the 50/50 raffles. And always, always had that big ole smile on his face. For the longest time though he couldn’t remember my name, which is Patricia. He always called me Pricilla and I always corrected him. Then one day I told him if he kept calling me Pricilla I was going to start calling him Ralph. We were Ralph and Pricilla for quite a long time. Makes me smile just to think about it. I miss him now and I’m quite sure I’m going to remember and miss him for a long time. I love ya Ralph..  much love Pricilla

Love you, grandpa Tony. I will always cherish our memories together. ♥️

I grew up down the street from Tony, Sherry & Terri. So many great memories, but one that sticks out the most is Tony riding his motorcycle up and down the street and doing tricks! Us kids used to think he was the coolest Dad! 😎 Like Evil Knievel!!🏍 Rest In Peace Tony  xoxo  🙏🏼🕯 Hugs to all the family ❤️
