Charles was born on September 23rd, 1927 in Oakland, California, to parents Ruth and Louis Anderson. He graduated from Lodi Academy in Lodi, California in 1945, and afterwards served in the United States Army. Charles then moved to Belmont, California, where he accepted a position as an assistant chief fireman at the Hillsborough fire department, where he worked for more than 15 years. Charles married Joan McFadden in 1948, and together had four children.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Tresser (Carl) of Rogue River; his 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Joan of 63 years; his sons Thomas and Ed Anderson of Rogue River and Medford; and his daughter Jane Clark (Skip) of Grants Pass.
