He was born January 31, 1955, and when he was born, the world got a funny, creative, wildly intelligent person who believed in making a mark wherever he went. He was a character, and if you ever met him, you could never forget him. He was kind, brave, and though he might not have always shown it, deeply insightful, often finding hidden meaning and value where others might not.
He is survived by his beloved children, Ariel and her husband Jake Moran, and Jake Weatherall and his wife Star, his grandchildren Isaac and Jack Weatherall, Emma and Sam Moran, and his dedicated sister and brother in law, Kris and Will West, as well as many, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dan was a light in this world and he will be badly missed. In lieu of contributions, take a moment to remember him. How funny he was, how kind he was, and how incredibly brave he was.
