Mrs. Fay Elnor Woolfolk
July 8, 1924 – August 4, 2019
On Sunday, August 4, 2019, Fay Woolfolk, loving wife and mother of two children peacefully passed away at the age of 95 from natural causes.
Fay was born on July 8, 1924, in Grants Pass, Oregon, to Linnah and Earnest McCollum and she grew and attended high school in Grants Pass. There she met her husband Sherman Woolfolk and together they raised a daughter and son, Pamela Lynn and Tom. Their parents, the McCollums and the Woolfolks lived in Grants Pass for many years.
Fay had a passion for gardening, family and dogs. She loved to tend her garden; it was a source of of pride and communion with nature. As Sherm worked his way up in the logging industry, becoming a field engineer, they lived in many places in Oregon. Fay was known for her generosity and compassionate spirit.
Her final days were spent in Cottage Grove where she was a devoted member of the Delight Valley Church of Christ.
Fay was preceded in death by her husband Sherm of 53 years. Fay is survived by her two children, Pamela Lynn and Tom, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service and celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 12 at the Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home at 1 o’clock pm. Contributions may be made to humane societies or the Alzheimers Association.
