
Bud joined the US Navy right out of high school attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer, retiring after 20 years of faithful service to his country. After his honorable discharge, he would go on to drive a truck for 20 more years, working hard to support his family.
Bud leaves behind his wife, Mrs. Allene Heath Garten of Grants Pass; Son Wayne Robert Garten of Grants Pass; Sister Violet Garten Wilson of Signal Hill, California; Three Step-Children, a host of grandchildren, Niece Ellen Riley and Nephew Mark Riley.
A committal service will be held on January 15, 2026 at Eagle Point National cemetery, 2763 Riley Rd, in Eagle Point, Oregon. Services will begin at 11:00 AM in the Committal Shelter.
Bud is preceded in death by his parents; son Eddie Garten; and Daughter Robin Garten.
Loved by family and friends alike, Bud will be missed until we see him in heaven.
The family has entrusted Chapel of the Valley in Grants Pass, Oregon.
