Born May 5, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Manuel and Marilyn Lobato. He served in the U.S. Navy; crew member on Hurricane Seekers. After the Navy, Karl worked in the entertainment industry in Las Vegas as a lighting and sound engineer for 45 years. He retired and moved to Grants Pass in 2011.
Karl was a devout Catholic. He loved square dancing and held many offices. Karl will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.
Karl is survived by his wife, Linda Lobato; children, Shelly Lobato, Michael Lobato (Jana), and Robin Lobato (Angela); stepchildren, Lauralee Wagner, Leslie Pugh, Christopher Sessions, and Eric Sessions; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Lobato, Sr. (Jeanne); sister, Sandra Mousaw, four nieces, four nephews, and many cousins.
Karl was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Marilyn Lobato; brother, Raynell Lobato; granddaughter, Erin Lobato; and son, Dennis Lobato.
Services to be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1131 NE 10th St., Grants Pass at 9:15 a.m.; Rosary at 10 a.m. Mass. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens at 2500 Upper River Road. A reception will follow at Josephine County Fairgrounds in the Square Dance Center, 1451 Fairgrounds Rd., Grants Pass.
