
Mary Louise Carroll, 94, died at home Tuesday, June 29, 2021. She was born May 16, 1927 in McMinnville, Tennessee to Clyde and Lela Phillips. She grew up in Dibrell, TN (just a 'wide spot in the road').
After living in such places like Detroit, MI, Yager, TN, and Columbia, SC she ended up in Bakersfield, CA. There, she met William G, Carroll and they were married in 1951 in Las Vegas.
She was a cashier for most of her working years, working for such stores as Long's Drug Stores & Thrifty Drug Stores. After moving to Grants Pass, OR in 1974, she even worked a short time at Blind George's Newsstand.
Mary Louise liked owls; not the real ones but figurines & clocks & such. And she loved cats, including the real ones. She also liked to bake & cook in general, especially to make candy for friends, relatives, and the congregation at the 'J' St. Church of Christ, where she attended.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Carroll Sr.; son, William G. Carroll Jr.; her parents and all 9 of her brothers & sisters.
She is survived by her son, Clyde 'Chuck' Carroll; daughter-in-law, Linda Creasman; and grandson, Ricky Creasman, all of Grants Pass, OR. Mary did not want a memorial. Private graveside services will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
