She was born in Palouse, Washington to Harvey Lynd and Murphy Fagg. She had two older sisters, June Bloom and Thelma Lucas, and a younger brother Neil Lynd, all who have preceded her in death. She married Howard Gold in 1936. He passed away in 1974. They were the parents of H Douglas Gold, Donald L Gold, Karolyn D DiBetta, and Darlene K Bettencourt. She has 17 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, and 29 great great grandchildren.
She went back to school in 1965 and became a nurse's assistant. She worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose until she retired in 1987. In 1988, she married her second husband, Dr. Dean Harding. They moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where they had a llama and alpaca ranch. When she was 91, she was still taking care of the ranch and her ailing husband. She was always a hard worker. After Dean died in 2010, she broke her hip and then moved in with her daughter, Darlene, where she spent the rest of her long life.
She was active and mentally sharp. She was always up for a competitive game of pinochle or putting together a jigsaw puzzle. She enjoyed living in the mountains and watching the deer but she didn't like all of the turkeys.
She was loved by many and will be missed.
