Betty Jones, of Euless, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 2nd in Bedford, Texas from Covid pneumonia. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, Nana, sister, aunt and friend to all that knew and loved her. Betty was born on February 19, 1932 in her home in Gladewater, Texas to Richard and Zona Raymer.
Betty graduated from TCU/Harris College of Nursing with a bachelors degree. She worked as an RN in pediatrics at Arlington Memorial for many years prior to her retirement and remained in close contact with many of her coworkers. Betty was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Euless where she worked in the preschool area for many years. While working in this area, she instituted the use of disinfectant and cleaning of all toys and beds for the safety of our youngest members. Everyone remembers Betty for her infectious smile and her kindness to all she met.
Betty was preceded in death by her spouse James Robert (Bob) Jones, her parents Richard and Zona Raymer, 4 brothers, Stanley, Buddy, Albert and Arnold and 1 sister Mavis Clark. She is survived by her daughters Leslie and husband David DeFrank of Euless, Texas, daughter Sandy Wren of Keller, Texas, sons Rob Jones and wife Beth of Joshua, Texas and Randy Jones of Dallas, Texas, sister Zona Crabtree and husband Joe of Aurora Missouri. Betty is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
At this time, there will not be a service or visitation due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The family will hold a private graveside service only.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Medical Center Dallas or Cook Children’s Medical Center Ft. Worth.
