Blake Norma Lindsey was born on 18th December 1927 to Effie and Lindon in Cedar Key, Florida. He was conscripted into the Army at aged 18 towards the end of WWII during his final year of high school. In 1950 he and his best friend, Daniel, hitched to Tampa to join the Air Force which was the start of more than 20 years service to his country. He met the love of his life, Marilyn Mary Moore, in Nottingham, England and they married 17th December, 1955 and enjoyed 65 cherished years together.
He retired from military service in 1970 and moved the family to Nottingham, England where he enjoyed another career with Raleigh Bicycles retiring at the age of 65. He then took up golf which became his life’s passion for the next 20+ years, which ended when he was diagnosed with Prostate cancer. He was extremely proud to win his golf club’s annual tournament in his 80s.
Blake was preceded in death by parents Lindon and Effie, brothers Sammy, Jesse, Lindon and Alexander, sisters Dorothy, Lizzie Bell, Margaret and Linda. He is survived by wife Marilyn, his brothers Bobby and Clement his daughters Sharon, Carolyn and Amanda, his grandchildren Aaron, Robert, Keirran, Michael, William, Ben, Sophie, Natalie and Isobel and finally his great-grandchildren Sterling, Ruby, Lily, Elise, Willow, Ethan, Duke, Annabel, Paloma and Penelope.
He was a very caring and generous man, loved by all who met him.
