Born in 1955, Brian lived a life marked by quiet strength, curiosity and an enduring love for the outdoors.
Brian served in the United States Navy. Following his service, he pursued a career in mechanical engineering, it was a job that suited his analytical mind well.
Brian was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and brother-in-law. His greatest joy was being a dad. Although health issues in later years prevented him from fully participating in many activities and life events, his son was a continual source of pride. Brian enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and building; he could fix anything and often tinkered just to learn how things worked. His wry humor and steadfast presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy; his son, Brandon, and Brandon’s fiancée, Taylor; his siblings and their spouses: sister Debbie and husband Jack, brother Scott and wife Kerry, sister Amy, brother Robert and wife Laquita, and sister Leslie and husband Jim; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Connie Norton.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Brian’s memory to the American Diabetes Association.
A private family service will be held in August, and he will be laid to rest in the DFW National Cemetery.
