With broken hearts but steadfast hope, we announce that our beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend, Brooklyn Faith Rivera, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2025. She was 16 years old.
Brooklyn was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, and living in Lantana, Texas, she filled her world with joy, laughter, and love. She had a heart for service, a soul anchored in Christ, and a passion for guiding others toward goodness and grace. Her faith was not just something she spoke of—it was something she lived every day.
She loved ice cream seven days a week, sushi dinners with her family, and especially when babysitting, and the pure companionship of her dogs. She had a special tenderness for children and an inspiring desire to make the world around her better. She tried to reach others around her with love and happiness, shining God’s light in this negative world.
Brooklyn is deeply loved and missed by her parents, Victor and Clair Rivera, and her brother, Ryan Rivera, her Wonder Twin. She is also survived by her paternal grandmother, Gladys Rivera, known as “Tata”; her maternal grandparents, Elmer and Darlene Chandler, known as “PawPaw and Gigi”; and a large, loving family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will carry her memory in their hearts always.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 1 p.m. at BridgeWay Church in Copper Canyon, Texas. For more details, please visit www.bwchurch.com.
Those who wish to honor Brooklyn’s memory with flowers may have them delivered to the church beginning at 10 a.m. on the day of the service. For those desiring to help financially, a memorial fund has been created to help establish a nonprofit organization honoring Brooklyn and her desire to stop school bullying.
Though her time with us was far too short, Brooklyn’s impact was immeasurable. We take comfort in knowing she is now embraced by eternal peace and love.
