My husband, Lee, and I have been friends with the Gentry family for approximately 42 years. Curt was/is Lee’s best friend and is devastated/heartbroken that Curt passed so soon. Through those 42 years, the Gentry’s have invited us to stay at their house, as we had them at ours, but not as often, because Pat is a wonderful cook (especially breakfast) and Curt made the most delicious sweet baked ham!! Our daughter and son could hardly wait for us to get together so they could play with their daughter Jennifer!! They’ve been by our side through the ups and downs, through the laughter and tears of life. Our hearts are broken and we will miss Curt’s strong , steady voice and calm demeanor, but know by his actions and shared faith in Christ, that Curt is with the Lord.

Curt has been my Big Brother since I became best friends with his brother Gary nearly 50 years ago. He was always there to keep us on the right path. Thank you brother for your guidance over the many decades. I will always love and miss you.

My wife Diane and I are from Canada. We first met Curt and Pat seven years ago, dining at a shared table on a transatlantic cruise. We instantly bonded as we learned about each other and our shared interests and views on life. Curt opened his heart and home to us and we have since shared wonderful memories made over visits and vacation travel together. Curt and Pat's strong faith and practice of generosity to others have been an inspiration to us. Diane and I are heartbroken at his passing - we only learned of his serious illness a few months ago. But we take solace in knowing that he is now in a better place. We wish to send sincere condolences to Pat and family. Curt is in our prayers.
