Darryl Kenneth Clements passed away on June 5, 2020 at the age of 62 in his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Baden-Sollinger Germany to Adele and Ernest Clements. Growing up, Darryl and his family moved around Canada before coming to the United States in 1966. On February 14, 1985, Darryl married Juanita Trevino, starting 35 years of marriage. Together, they had two daughters, Laura and Julia, both of whom helped turn his hair grey.

In his spare time, Darryl spent many hours volunteering at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where he helped run the Honduras Mission program. He led many mission trips to St. Francis’ sister parish in Culmi, Honduras, enriching the hearts and minds of many along the way. Darryl spent much time with the St. Francis youth, teaching confirmation classes, chaperoning conferences and retreats, and mentoring them in their faith.

Darryl’s passion for helping others was also evident in his work with First Student, where he spent many hours ensuring that children were safely transported to school and activities.

Darryl’s guidance and kindness had a lasting impact on many.

He is preceded in death by his father Ernest, his stepfather Everett Bennett, his mother Adele, and his two brothers, Dale and Colin.

He is succeeded by his wife Juanita; his daughters, Laura and Julia; his brothers and their wives: Vernon and Rayma Clements, Scott and Karen Clements, Neil and Charlotte Clements, Patrick and Jackie Clements, and Marcus and Fran Bennett; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved grand doodle, Indiana Jones.

You can always tell the depth of character of a man by his presence among family, friends and colleagues. While he stayed in the background of photos or in the background at meetings, he was always there, quiet and supportive. He never wanted to be the person up front, or in the limelight, but he was always there to offer his opinion and support. Darryl, I did not know you as well as Joe or others, but you were always kind to me, you helped me when I needed it, and you always had a wry comment to make me laugh! You are missed. God Bless Your Family, may they find comfort in knowing that you suffer no more and are in the Hands of God for Eternity!

Darryl Clements will always be remembered for his passion in creating an amazing way to simplify the blessings in life. I pray for peace and comfort to his wife and daughters, they were his world. He touched the lives of many who worked with him. He will be truly missed by all the brother's and sisters in the Colony and throughout the Lewisville School District. I had the privilege to work with Darryl on many occasions and he always found a way to see beyond the challenges. I will always remember to bring his vision of helping others, and look beyond the mountains. I will miss you my friend.

I remember how great Darryl was during all the young adult events when I was a kid. He always made me feel welcomed, and he was a joy to have around. I appreciated how he made it feel like the Church was always alive with jokes and smiles. My heart goes out to all of y'all, and I'll keep y'all all in my prayers. God Bless.

I remember hearing about the mission trips that this good man led with Juanita, his wonderful wife. The work they did on those trips touched my heart and inspired me to seek to bring change where I could. I know this man is dearly loved & missed by his family. Juanita & Clements Family, my heart goes out to you. May God comfort you with His peace & strength as you figure out life without your dear husband, father, brother and friend.

Darryl was a wonderful person. Working with him for the YMCA busing contract each summer was always a breeze with him doing the scheduling and invoicing. He was always protective of getting our kiddos to their field trips in a safe manner

He was thoughtful and always kind.

I will miss his knowledge and big caring personality.
