Debra “Debbi” Lynn Wells, a long-time Southlake resident and beloved by many, passed on May 2, 2015 after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. She passed away with her family by her side. Debbi never gave up and fought her disease the same way she lived her life: head on. She loved her life and was known to speak her mind. She would do anything for her family or a friend in need and was generous to many causes throughout the local community. Debbi was born in Plattsburg, New York on August 1, 1956 and grew up in Endicott, New York. She attended St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York where she met her husband, John, the love of her life. She graduated with a degree in Accounting and worked for many years as an Assistant Comptroller at numerous companies such as Hudson Wire Company and Booze Allen Hamilton. Her greatest joy and accomplishment in life, she would say, was her family. She loved spending her time going to her kids sporting or band events, volunteering at the schools, and tailgating the Longhorn football games. She was the rock of her family, and the center of their lives. She enjoyed going to estate sales, shopping with her girls, gardening, and was an avid bowler. She was especially close to her brother, Craig. Debbi is survived by her husband, John Michael Pearson; her four children, John Earl Pearson, Cassidy Lynn Pearson, Elyse Pearson Hesterberg (Travis Hesterberg), and Danielle Marie Pearson; granddaughter, Brynn Wells Hesterberg; parents, Earl William Wells and Jane Evelyn Wells; siblings, Linda Jane Wells, Craig Allen Wells and Dawn Wells Gneiser; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will be present Wednesday from 5:00-8:00PM at Foust Funeral Home, 523 S. Main Street, Grapevine Texas 76051. A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Southlake, Rev. Betsey Godbold officiating. Internment at Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery in Colleyville, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Grapevine Lions Club in honor of Debra Wells, or to UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Brugarolas Lab P.O. Box 91088, Dallas TX 75391-0888 [email protected] or http://www3.utsouthwestern.edu/brugarolaslab/donate.php
