Obituary of Mrs. Doris Baker Glenn
Doris Jean Baker Glenn, loving wife, mother, sister and friend, passed peacefully on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Doris was born to Clay and Dorothy Baker on July 20, 1932. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, James Milton Glenn. Doris married Milton Glenn on January 30, 1955, in Lexington, KY and they soon set about raising a family when David arrived in late 1956, followed by Michael and Dotti-jean. Doris’ passion was always her family and she supported Milton in his career which led them from South Carolina to Kentucky, Indiana, Oklahoma, Texas, Pennsylvania and finally back to Texas where they have lived since 1987. Doris loved to entertain friends and family in her home. She loved to read, do crafts and, as her family can attest, she was a fantastic cook. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, and she loved to decorate her home. Doris was gifted in working with children and spent years teaching Sunday School to the little ones. She was especially devoted to her grandchildren and her greatest joy was letting them know that each one was special, uniquely loved by their “Mamaw”, and above all completely loved by Jesus. For the last 25 years, Doris and Milton attended Church At The Cross where they enjoyed many friendships. Doris was a life-long student of the bible and read and studied scripture almost every day. Doris’ favorite bible verse was “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33. She is survived by her children David Glenn, Michael Glenn (Julie), and Dotti-jean Schindler (Andy), as well as grandchildren Jacob Glenn, Madeline Glenn, Zachary Schindler (Angel), Eric Glenn, Joshua Schindler (Chandler), and Kathryn Allen (Josh), and great grandchildren, Josiah, Silas and Malachi Schindler. She is also survived by her brother Charles Baker, sister Judy Curry, and preceded in death by her brother Elgan Baker. She was also devoted to her beloved Maltipoo, Mandy.
