Florence E Scott

“Flo” was born in Olean, New York to Donald Ursoy and Eleanor (Puff) Ursoy on January 24, 1938. She grew up in Olean, New York and graduated from Olean High School. She married Bobby Eugene Scott on September 24, 1955 in Phoenix City, Alabama. Her beloved husband, “Bob” of 64 years. While living in Columbus, Georgia, Flo received her bookkeeping certification to become a bookkeeper. Her initial career as a bookkeeper was put aside with the birth of the first of 4 children. Bob’s Army career took him, Flo and their four children to postings in Virginia, France, Georgia and Texas. Flo parented the children alone during Bob’s unaccompanied tours in Vietnam and S. Korea. While living in Mineral Wells, Texas, Flo and Bob converted to Catholicism where her Christian faith grew. Flo’s belief, organizational skills and practical nature made her well suited as a military spouse. After Bob retired from the military, they lived in her hometown Olean, New York for seven years, then Chicago, Illinois, where she was a bookkeeper at Walgreens corporate office, six years. Ultimately to Bedford, Texas where Flo worked and retired for American Airlines headquarters.

Flo’s life was grounded by her family and a life well-lived. She was a loving and giving person, spending the rest of her years caring for her extensive family and pursuing her many passions. She sang in St. Michael’s Catholic Church choir, volunteered in church, traveled, cared for her grandchildren and was a gracious hostess her entire life. Flo was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend.

Florence is preceded in death by her parents Eleanor and Clyde Green, father Donald Ursoy, brother Donald Eugene Ursoy, Jr., brother Steve Green, sister, Donna Ursoy, son-in-law Mac Devin Watson.

Florence is survived by her husband Bob Scott, her children Jon Scott (Debra), Clyde Scott (Linda), Joni Faulkner (Randy), Jana Valentine Watson. Sister Janice Sisson, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

A rosary and memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 31, 2019, J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home, 523 S. Main Street, Grapevine, TX, 76051.
