I remembered very well Harold from his days with GTE International. Very knowledgeable person in telecom, and with lots of experience under his arms. We had a very good professional relationship both in Caracas, Venezuela with CANTV and Dallas, TX, with GTE/Verizon. He was an excellent human being, honest and caring. Rest in peace.

A Mi Amado Esposo Harold,

To My Beloved Husband Harold,

I thank God for putting my beloved Harold Amundson in my life. We have shared 27 years together, which have been strengthened by the love we expressed ourselves. God has taught me through His company genuine love for the family and for others. Harold was a sympathetic, loving, sacrificial, humble, giving husband and a very devoted person. I keep in my heart many memories together that fill my soul with gratitude.
I trust that our days are in the hands of our Creator and that everyone who believes in Jesus has eternal life, that is my hope and comfort today.

40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” John 6:40 (NIV)

To my Grandpa.

There are no words to express what your place was in my life or how blessed I am to be your granddaughter.

You carried me through college at SMU, supported me through medical school, and you were by my side as I completed my residency at Parkland just a few short years ago. 11 years of school, and you were there cheering me on every step of the way. You showed me that I could, and I did—because of you. I told you that once not long ago, and I’m glad I did. I am so blessed to know you, and to love you, and to have been able to spend so many of my adult years, some of that time of course at the Waffle House, with you.

My heart is broken but it is with you now and always.

Signed with most amount of Love, Desi

Harolito,

I am so blessed to have had you in my life. You were like a dad to me. You adopted my sister, my mom, and I into your heart. You taught me to care for others, to not take life too seriously, to work hard, to never cut my hair too short, and to be fearless, and determined.

I have so many great memories with you: birthdays, holidays, random phone calls, dinners, drop by visits, graduations (all of them), and my wedding day! My favorite memory with you is every time you told me ‘oh dear, I remember the day you were born. You had a head full of curly hair, 2 legs, 2 arms, and a big diaper. You looked so cute.’ Your face would light up every time you told me this, which was about (at least) 30x a year.

You have taken a piece of my heart with you, but I am thankful for all of the memories that we made together. I already miss you so much, and I know life will be hard without you in it. But as you always taught me, we must pick ourselves back up and look toward the future.

I can’t wait to tell my children about the most amazing father I had growing up. I will show them the love that you showed me. I hope to keep making you proud.

Your contagious laugh, kind spirit, jokes, and love will live in my heart forever. Although it might seem like it’s a goodbye, for me it’s a see you later.

I miss you and love you so much,

Valentina Valero.
