Jeanne Marie Snyder
November 25, 1958 – April 22, 2021
Jeanne “Jean” Marie Snyder, 62, passed away April 22, 2021, after a long battle with multiple cancers, surrounded by family at home in Euless, Texas.
Jean was born in Kokomo, Indiana on November 25, 1958. She graduated from Kokomo High School, received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University, and received a Master’s degree in Learning Therapy from Southern Methodist University. She was an alumna of the Delta Zeta Sorority.
Jean worked in many different fields including fashion, politics, technology, economic development, marketing, writing, and education - the last of which was her true calling. She was a learning therapist for children with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. Some of her many passions included learning, teaching, traveling, socializing, swimming, being outdoors, antiquing, gardening, dancing and music, to name a few.
Jean was not only there for others, but also was an animal lover and never gave up on any animal in need she could help. She embraced life to the fullest and was a successful opportunist. In one of her later adventures, she became a certified diver in Thailand. Her zest for life and adventure was contagious to all she met on her journey. She never met a stranger and was always there for friends and family. Jean was a force to be reckoned with. Her fighting spirit will live on within anyone that spent time with her.
Jean was an adventurer, but first and foremost a dedicated mother to the two daughters she shared with David Ashbaugh. She treasured every moment with her daughters - their successes and battles were hers. Jean once stated during one of her many adventures in Goa, India, “My home is here with the wind and sea; but, my heart is in Texas near my girls.”
She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Snyder. She is survived by her daughters, Hannah (Curtis) Donner and Christa Ashbaugh; granddaughter, Aubrey Donner; mother, Helen Snyder; brothers, Joseph Snyder and Richard Snyder; sister, Janice Cooke; and many spiritual family members.
A celebration of Jean’s life will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at J.E. Foust & Son, 523 S Main St, Grapevine, Texas 76051.
