

Celebration of life: JJ's life will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at J.E. Foust & Sons Funeral Home in Grapevine. Officiating will be Pastor Richard Plunk.
Memorials: Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County.
JJ was born Jan. 23, 1947, in Odessa. His parents were Don and Francis Hazel. He was married to Betty Hazel of Grapevine. JJ graduated high school in Snyder. After graduation, JJ entered the U.S. Air Force and served from 1966 until 1970. After serving in the military, he went to work for International Tubular Services in Cairo, Egypt, and retired as operations manager in 2014.
His greatest passion in life was to travel cross country on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. JJ was a man of faith and a member of the Grace Community Assembly of God in Flower Mound. He was also an extreme Republican.
JJ always had a smile on his face and laughter in his heart. He is now riding his Harley with "Heaven's Angels."
Survivors: Wife, Betty Hazel; son, Jay Hazel; stepchildren, Tina and Greg Clay, Gina and Rodney Head, and Cliff Kahn; grandchildren, Brittany Sayre, Aleecia Head and Clint Head; great-grandchildren, Jacob Johnson, Austin and Tobianne Sayre; siblings, Joe Pitman, Bill Hazel and Judy Jerome; and beloved pets, Willie and Ranger.
