On May 25, 1963 Jesse married Guadalupe Rodriguez in Norwalk, California where they resided until 1989, then moving to Las Cruces, NM and finally Grapevine, TX.
Over the next several years, he spent most of his life having worked at the LA Zoo, Six Flags Over Texas and TODD Shipyard in Long Beach, California. It was there that Jesse was often recognized for his hard work and dedication, where he held the position as supervisor and welder/fabricator building and maintaining naval ships, frigates and cruise ships.
Jesse had a love of wood work, he would carve horses and spend hours painting them. He also loved cooking for his family. His rolled tacos and guacamole sauce were always a favorite request and he happily obliged whenever he could.
He was a proud Native American from the Papago Indian Tribe in Arizona. He shared many childhood memories of the numerous summers visiting with his grandmother on the Reservation.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 55 years, Guadalupe (Lupe) of Grapevine. His Daughters, Sylvia Villa of Grapevine, Lorisa Jasso and her husband Rick of Las Cruces, NM, Elena Bassinger and her husband Tony of Grapevine.
He was a very proud grandfather of seven grandsons. Jason Davis and his wife Kathleen McDowell, Michael Davis, Robert, Patrick, Evan and Joseph Jasso and his littlest "cowboy" Xavier Bassinger
The last few months were difficult for Jesse but his love for God never wavered. He was a faithful man.
Our tears are flowing but our hearts are content knowing he is free of pain and now joined with loved ones in Heaven.
We would like to thank everyone who has prayed for Jesse over the past few months. And to the friends and family who have rallied around us during this time. Also to the nursing staff at Aspen Hospice who have been so wonderful.
Visitation will be June 4th at 6-8pm at Foust & Son Funeral Home, 523 S. Main St.; Grapevine, TX.
Funeral Mass will be June 5th at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine. With burial at Historic Grapevine Cemetery. Lunch Reception to follow at St. Francis, Parish Hall
