OBITUARY

Joe Dow Gregory

January 5, 1947December 28, 2019

Joe Dow Gregory of North Richland Hills, TX, our "Pa", went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 28, 2019. Born January 5, 1947, in Lubbock, TX to Ike and Joe Pearl Gregory, he grew up working alongside his parents, brother and three sisters on the family farm in Ropesville, TX and later in Hobbs, NM. Joe Dow married his high school sweetheart Sandra Gale Long, in 1967, and their bonds of marriage remained strong until Joe's passing. Joe Dow was a 1974 graduate of Baylor Law School and partnered with his brother Izak Gregory in forming The Law Office of Gregory and Gregory in Dallas and later Grapevine. Gregory and Gregory was a family-run business also employing Joe Dow's mother, Joe Pearl, and his sisters Jimmie K and Tibitha. During their 52 years of marriage, Joe Dow and Gale raised three sons, Isaac, Daniel and David-celebrated their sons' marriages to daughters-in-law Bethany, Kim and Natalie and rejoiced at the birth of 7 grandchildren Ella, Grace, Tripp, Audrey, Christina, David and Abigale. Joe Dow loved the Lord, his family, his Sunday school class and church as well as many lifelong friends. He also loved fishing, vigorously salting his food, the Baylor Bears, chasing wild investment schemes, such as the much-maligned "Inferno Snuffers" and giving WAY too much candy and sweets to his adoring grandkids who knew him as "Pa". Joe Dow is truly loved and adored by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ike and Joe Pearl, sister Vickey and brother Izak.

He is survived by his wife, sons, daughters-in-law, 7 grandkids, sister Jimmie K Carson and sister and brother-in-law Tibitha and Rick Rhodes in addition to several nieces and nephews.

Words can't begin to describe the heartbreak I feel having heard of Joe's passing. I had the pleasure of getting to know Joe and Gale in such a short period of time, but it was like I had known them my whole life. He was such a sweet but stubborn man lol And I say that with such admiration. I loved our talks and learning about his life and his family. They were his pride. He had so much love for others and was such a special soul. God has gained back one of His angels. RIP Joe!
