Johnny grew up in Grapevine, Texas, on "The Hill", where he attended elementary school. He later rode a bus into Fort Worth to attend I.M. Terrell High School.
Johnny found a love for playing marbles with his brothers and sisters when he was younger. He enjoyed sports and played baseball as a pitcher, and he also loved bowling. He learned how to shoot pool at his father’s café, where he also enjoyed listening to R&B music.
In 1988 Johnny accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized by Pastor Ron O’Guinn, his brother-in-law.
His soul was received into Heaven by the Lord, Jesus Christ, on October 29, 2023.
Johnny’s loving memory will live on in his three beautiful daughters, Chundra Simone Conway, Shenean Lynette Allen and Ebony Tahnee Jones. He also leaves behind five siblings- Lewis Jones Jr., Jerome Jones, Doris Jean Daniels, Willie Ruth O’Guinn and Beverly Ann Jackson; Two Aunts- Jozell Miller and Lola Hines; Son-in-law Christopher Conway; Nine grandchildren- Tyler T. Jones-Manning, Taylor S. Manning, Tanner L. Manning, Tyara L. Manning, Jade K. Ligon, Jordan O. Wesley, Christian M. Teal, Genesis C. Teal, and Ashton B. Blake; Thirteen Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service for Johnny will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Foust & Son Funeral Home, 523 S Main St, Grapevine, Texas 76051. A committal service will occur Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Grapevine Cemetery. A repass will follow burial on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Foust & Son Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers are Willie Brucell Jones, William Trigg, Billy Jones, Altie Jones, Jerome Jones, Jr., Julis Campbell.
Honorary pallbearers are Jerome Jones, John E. Jones, Nathaniel Jones, James Ray Jones and Lewis Jones, Jr..
