

On December 7, 1940 in Los Angeles, California Julia Ann Dawson was born to Mary E. Parrish Dawson and Thomas E. Dawson. Her father was a Los Angeles policeman and her mother was an executive secretary. They both had moved from Lubbock, Texas to California.
Julia grew up in a warm, happy home with her younger brother Thomas Jr. and her sister Janice. At an early age in life she let her family know that she wanted to be a teacher. She achieved that goal receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Education from California State University, Long Beach on August 30, 1963. She received a letter commending her excellent academic record and attainment of the Dean's Honor List from the Dean of Students.
She loved teaching and received many awards and commendations for her excellent work. Her teaching spanned 46 years from 1963 to 2009. She taught in California, Texas, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., and Taiwan. In addition, she was a full-time administrator for the Fulbright Program in Cyprus.
As well as her teaching and administrative careers, Julia raised two wonderful sons, Daniel J. Czyz and Michael F. Czyz. She instilled in them a strong work ethic, honesty, religious upbringing, responsibility, regard for everyone regardless of race, creed, or color and most importantly she gave them a lot of love.
Julia loved crafts and was a very talented artist. She also loved gardening and landscaping. Julia loved traveling and especially enjoyed living overseas for fifteen years enjoying the sites and cultures. Julia lived and worked in Saudi Arabia, U.A.E., Cyprus, and Taiwan. Julia was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend who brightened your heart with her beautiful smile.
On November 12, 2022 in Grapevine, Texas she passed away with family present. She is survived by her husband Joseph Czyz, sons Daniel Czyz and Michael Czyz, daughter-in-law Tanya Czyz, her adoring grandsons Thomas Czyz, James Czyz, and Samuel Czyz, sister Janice Monaghan, and beloved aunt to the extended Czyz and Dawson families.
A memorial service will be held at J E Foust & Son Funeral Home, Grapevine, Texas on December 10, 2022 at 2:00 PM. The service will also be broadcasted online. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
