Linda, or “Clancy” as she was known in high school, was born on September 13, 1947, in Delhi, Louisiana. A fun-loving girl with lots of friends, Linda played basketball and was a cheerleader and homecoming queen. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael Ray Mitchell and attended Northeast Louisiana State University. In 1970, they had one daughter, Traci. Although this marriage ended, Mike and Linda remained good friends throughout her life.
In 1975, Linda married William J. Bills or “Bill Bills,” and moved to Dallas. In 1980, they had one son, Shaun. She remained married and devoted to Bill for over 40 years.
Linda had a knack for numbers and worked in the tax preparation industry at FastTax/CLR for many years. After suffering a series of medical issues, she made a career change, becoming a financial advisor for Primerica.
Despite her many health setbacks, she never let it stop her. Linda was a determined woman, passionate about her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crafting and playing games. She would say, “they are the lights of my life.” She also had a great love for animals, a love she passed down to her children. She was a dedicated supporter of many rescue groups throughout Texas and Louisiana. She was a generous person, caring mom and good friend. If you knew her, you loved her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William James Bills. She is survived by her children, Traci Mitchell, Shaun Bills and Steven Reed; her grandchildren, Noah, Parker and Presley; her siblings and their families, Margaret and Rick Vroom, Joe and Victoria Newcomer and Renee Newcomer; her step-sister Carol Beckingham and step-brother, Russell McEacharn; her mother-in-law, Carolyn Bills, and brothers-in-law, Johnnie and Kenneth; sisters-in-law, Theresa, Jeannette, Trisha and Vickie; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00pm, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Foust and Son Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm December 19, 2019 at Foust and Son Funeral Home.
