Linda was born on September 18, 1956, in Yokosuka, Japan, to James and Virginia Walton. As the daughter of a U.S. Navy sailor, Linda spent her early years living in several states as her father’s assignments changed. In 1969, her family settled in Texas, where she formed lifelong friendships and lasting roots. She graduated from L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, Texas, in 1974.
On May 31, 1975, Linda married the love of her life, Marc, beginning a marriage filled with deep devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership. In 1982, Linda and Marc moved to Quitman, Texas, where they raised their children and built a home filled with love, guidance, and strong family values. Some of their most cherished memories were made during those years, surrounded by community, family time, and everyday moments that mattered most to Linda. In 1997, they returned to Bedford, the place Linda truly called home.
Linda dedicated her professional career to Southwestern Bell/AT&T, working from 1974 until 2011. Linda began her career with Southwestern Bell in 1974 as a phone operator at the Hurst office. When the family relocated to Quitman in 1982, she worked at the Tyler office, where she made friendships that lasted a lifetime. After moving back to Bedford in 1997, Linda continued her career, eventually becoming an Account Executive at the AT&T Dallas Corporate office, retiring in 2011. Through every role, she was respected, hardworking, and deeply valued by those who knew her. While she was proud of her career growth, Linda found her greatest joy in being a devoted wife, loving mother, and especially a treasured Nana. She lovingly coached her children in T-ball while they were growing up and supported her family in every chapter of life. More than anything, Linda was her children’s biggest fan, cheering them on in every season of life and celebrating even the smallest victories and carried that same joy and pride watching her granddaughter play sports and could always be found in the stands, cheering with pride.
Linda found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved gardening, cooking, taking family vacations, and going on walks around the neighborhood where she enjoyed visiting with neighbors. Her home was filled with collections of thimbles, spoons, owls, telephones, and sunflowers—each one bringing her joy. Linda valued meaningful connection—treasuring lunches with friends and cherishing frequent phone calls with Beverley, often talking several times a day about family, everyday moments, and the little things that filled her heart.
She had a deep love for animals and especially adored her grand doggies, Bayleigh and Oakley, who brought her endless happiness.
Above all else, Linda treasured her husband Marc, time spent with her family, and sunflowers—bright reflections of her loving spirit. She will forever be remembered for her radiant smile, joyful laugh, and the genuine love she gave so freely.
Linda lived a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to others. Her spirit lives on in the family she raised, the friendships she treasured, and the many lives forever changed by her presence.
