She was born in Jacksonville, FL on September 7, 1954, to Anthony and Marion Hess of Irving, TX. In 1974, she married Roger Vinson and set up their family in Grapevine, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Marion Hess, her brother Andy Hess, and grandson Palmer Vinson.
She is survived by her husband Roger Vinson, two children, Zackary Vinson and wife Stacy Vinson of Amarillo, Ciearra Harless and husband Garrett Harless of McKinney, four beautiful granddaughters Adalynn, Jaydn, Olivia and Charlotte, as well as her siblings Kelley Buzbee and Jeff Hess.
Depending on who you spoke with she was known as “Mom”, “Grammy”, “Lou,” and “Cretia.” To say to the world, “Lost a good one!” is an understatement. The world lost the BEST one.
She was a proud member of the famed, “YaYas”. No one enjoyed cheesecake more. Lucretia is deeply missed and all of our prayers are with her in Heaven. There is no doubt she is beyond happy with arms firmly around her grandson Palmer Craig Vinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, March of Dimes, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A celebration of life will take place on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 11 AM at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Directors, located at 523 S Main St, Grapevine, Texas, 76051.
