Mazie Nell Eden
December 28, 1928 – July 9, 2018
Mazie Nell Crews Eden, 89, of Euless, Texas passed away peacefully on July 9, 2018 at Avendelle Assisted Living of Euless. Mazie was born in Grapevine, Texas on December 28, 1928 to Nell Fields and George Corbin Crews. She graduated from TSCW (TWU) in 1950 with a bachelor’s degree in music. She learned to play every instrument except the harp only because the university didn’t own one. She was married to the love of her life, Bobby Franklin Eden, on June 22 1951. They were married 39 years. Mazie was a school teacher in Grapevine before having children and became a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist church for over 60 years and played the piano there before ever joining the church. She played the organ and piano for over 25 years. She loved being involved in the children’s ministry, where she taught 3rd and 4th grade children for 45 years. She was a strong advocate for children’s education. Mazie was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Franklin Eden; mother, Nell Fields Crews; father, George Corbin Crews; and two brothers, George Corbin Crews and Charles Richard (Dick) Crews. Mazie will be missed dearly by her 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Terry and David Ingram; Beth and Terry Hubbard; and Rebecca and Mark Evans; ten grandchildren and spouses, Brian Ingram and wife Tiffany; Brent Ingram and wife Kirsi; Amanda Ingram Dearing and husband Kevin Dearing; Travis Hubbard and wife Gretta; Chad Hubbard and wife Katey; Carrie Hubbard; Emily Evans Corcoris and husband Tadd; Haley, Matt, and Maggie Evans; nine great grandchildren Isaac, Ethan, and Addie Ingram; Taryn, Mazie, Kai, and Hinley Ingram; Emerson Dearing; and Kai Hubbard. Anyone who knew Mazie would remember always being greeted with warm eyes, a kind smile, and one of the best hugs two arms ever gave. Her coffee cake and Red Velvet cake will forever be greatly debated as to which was better with all sides coming away winners for having participated. Maize was a beacon of love, faith, and light for 89 years before finally, faithfully finishing her race being called home to rest. Visitation will be held at Foust & Son Funeral Home in Grapevine on Wednesday, July 11th from 6 - 8 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held the following day at 2 PM at First Baptist Church of Euless. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Ministry at First Baptist Church of Euless.
