

Monty Olin Barrett, of Lantana, TX, surrounded by his loving family, earned his angel wings on January 27th, 2022 at Texas Health Harris Hospital Alliance. He was ninety years young, born at home in Nolan County on March 5th, 1931, to Elmer Olin and Ruby Willie Barrett.
He graduated from Highland High School near Champion, TX. Monty was a Deacon in the First Baptist Church at Oklahoma Lane and made sure his family attended church services regularly. He was a farmer who grew corn, cotton, wheat, and sugar beets, and also had a few horses and cattle. He loved his family and all their activities which included:
Watching the kids play sports, riding three wheelers, going to the rodeo, traveling, watching westerns and The Bold and The Beautiful. He participated in the Farm Strike (Tractorcade) 1978, took square dance lessons, and most of all, he loved playing games, going to the lake, and fishing. Dominoes was his favorite!
He is survived by the love of his life, Bonnie Faye Harrison Barrett, his wife of almost 71 years; one son, “Randy” Randall Monty Barrett (Toni) of Boquete, Panama; two daughters, “Cindy” Cynthia Faye Bradburn (Joe) of Grapevine, TX, Beverly Dawn Willard (Karl) of Lantana, TX; eight grandchildren; Daphne Goodgion (Chad) of Argyle, TX, “Ty” Randall Monty Barrett II (Jen) of Denver, CO, Courtney Bradburn of Coppell, TX, “Nick” Nicholas Bradburn (Alli) of Woodinville, WA, Taylor Willard of Flower Mound, TX, Zachary Willard of Lewisville, TX, Bryce Willard of Lake Dallas, TX and Mitchell Willard of Denton, TX; four great grandchildren; Coy and Austen Goodgion and Trey and Cole Barrett. Monty was preceded in death by his mom, dad, and two brothers, JB Barrett and Dr. Robert Barrett.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 5th at J.E. Foust Funeral Home in Grapevine, TX. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8th, at Lockney Cemetery.
