Patricia Ann Napier

Patricia was born on October 6, 1946, to Ben Gregg Verastique and Beatrice Arechiga Verastique. She grew up in Austin, Texas, alongside her siblings, Samuel Verastique, Mary Elizabeth Landeros, and Dr. Bernardino “Skipper” Verastique, the person she lovingly called her “soulmate”. Their bond remained one of the most meaningful relationships of her life.

Patricia met her husband, Patrick Napier, on a blind date that led to nearly 60 years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in devotion, family, and countless shared memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved brother, Skipper. Patricia will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Patrick; her children, Catherine Albert and her husband, Fernando, Amy Sterbenz and her husband, Greg, Jo Ann Eckert and her husband, Ben, James Napier, and her step-daughter, Patricia Roberts and her husband, Archie; her grandchildren, Devon Albert, Vanessa Carranco, Maxwell Napier, Jason Sterbenz, Callie Abbott, Natalie Bernal, Tyler Sterbenz, and Crew Eckert, and her step-grandchildren Shenelle Katro, Glen Goodman III, Elizabeth Shirley, Hailie Wininger, her great-grandchild, Raymond Carranco, and another great-grandchild on the way; her brother, Samuel Verastique; her sister, Mary Elizabeth Landeros; and the many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched.

Her grandchildren were truly the light of her life. Whether it was a school play, birthday celebration, soccer game, Patricia was there, loudly cheering. Her home was the gathering place for every holiday and monthly family gathering.

Always one to appreciate a good story, Patricia could often be found settled into her favorite chair, watching her shows or catching up with someone on the telephone. She treasured a lively conversation and was never short on stories, opinions, or words of wisdom.

Patricia was also a worrier, often carrying something on her mind or in her heart. Still, once she had said her piece, she had a signature way of bringing the matter to a close with a curt and unmistakable, “Enough said.” It was a phrase that captured her wit, honesty, and unforgettable sense of humor.

Above all, Patricia loved her family. They were the center of her life and will remain her greatest legacy. Her faith, loyalty, humor, and unmistakable presence will be deeply missed, but the stories she told, the lessons she shared, and the love she gave so freely will live on in everyone who knew her.

The family will receive guests from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11th, at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12th, at J.E. Foust & Son Funeral Home, with interment following at Parker Memorial Cemetery in Grapevine, Texas.
