

Richard received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Georgia, is a part of the AMBUCS organization in Grapevine, as well as a veteran. He served as a Major in the US Air Force from 1970-1990 and was a retired Captain of American Airlines. Richard participated in the Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAFT) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Mr. Hampton enjoyed boating, his Harley, Georgia football, and Fox News.
He is survived by his wife; Janey Sexton Hampton; children; Tanya Hampton-Broussard and husband Stanley Conrad Broussard, and Richard Basil Hampton Jr.; grandchildren; Emily Rena and Conrad Oliver Broussard, Megan Nicole, Charles Basil, and Morgan Brooke Hampton; nieces; Shelley Sullivan, Julie Pumphrey, Janey Mendoza, and Gina Dexter; nephews; Tony Sexton, Alex Sexton, and Rodney Sexton; and cousins; June Jackson and Charles Hampton. Richard is preceded by Cleo Catherine and Charles Basil Hampton Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the Hampton family would like to have donations go towards the Wounded Warrior Project or the Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation.
