He graduated from Nederland High School, and then obtained a B.S. in mathematics from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas in 1992. After serving his country as a submariner in the Navy, he earned a Master of Science degree in software architecture from the University of Texas at Dallas. Rick continued to be a lifelong learner with a broad base of interest. He worked for many years as a database administrator, and, at the time of his passing, was working in that capacity for Gluent, a data virtualization company in Dallas. Rick married the love of his life, Annette, in August of 2000, and their son Mitchel was born two years later. Rick and Mitchel shared a special bond via their mutual love for all things Marvel and science fiction. He enjoyed riding bikes, hiking, and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, traveling, watching plays and musicals, and playing board games very competitively. Rick was a kind, gentle man of integrity who will be sorely missed by family and friends who loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Bridgette LeBlanc. He is survived by his wife Annette, son Mitchel, parents Shirley and Sam Pinder, stepsister Rhonda Holcomb, and numerous aunts and uncles.The family has been made aware it will be up to 90 days before the final cause of death is determined.
