Robert Arnold Melin

Known to family and friends as HatBob (since he was always wearing a hat), he enjoyed playing Trivia @ TGI Fridays in Grapevine.

Survived by Carolyn Showalter, his bonus daughter, Haley Showalter, his grand daughter and Hazel Showalter, HatBob’s great grand daughter; Bob’s sons: Daniel Troy Melin and Eric Marshall Melin.

Among his loves were Jacqueline(Jacque) Marie Ylatupa, his wife

his love of music and his cherished guitars

his love/hate relationship with the Cowboys, the Mavericks and the Texas Rangers (depending on how the teams were performing).

He would attend weekly staff meetings at Bottle Cap Alley in Grapevine with ex-IBMers.

Bob would attend weekly get togethers with friends at The Tap Inn in Grapevine.

He was employed by IBM for many years. He retired from IBM in 1992. He offered his computer knowledge and experience to the Grapevine VFW.

Bob and Jacque would travel yearly to Florida for a vacation with friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Bottle Cap Alley, Grapevine.
