Sandra Mae Gilley

Sandra is survived by her daughters Jill Murphy (Dan) and Joleen Mueller (David); grandchildren Caitlyn Tade (Matthew), Lishay Allen (Christopher), Maddie Gale (Wesley), and Emmy Hutto (Logan); and great grandchildren Will Tade, Ethan Tade, Georgia Allen, Alton Allen, Laken Tade, Oakley Tade, Kenny Allen, and Phoebe Gale.

Sandra is preceded in death by her husband Lowell D. Gilley; her mother and father, Cleo and Ralph “Hap” Lane; and great grandson Kenny Allen.

Sandra was born on August 14, 1939, in Burlington, Iowa to Cleo Hollenback. She graduated from Burlington High School and went on to work as a secretary at the Hawkeye Newspaper in Burlington, Iowa. Afterwards, she became a librarian at West Burlington Middle School in West Burlington, Iowa. She then became a secretary once again, working at Honson’s in Mediapolis.

When she wasn’t working, Sandra enjoyed a variety of hobbies including gardening, sewing, cross stitching, and collecting antiques. One of her favorite things to do was studying the Bible. She deeply cherished spending time with her family. She had a heart for helping others and loved visiting with people.
