December 15, 1950 – June 10, 2026
Sandra Kay Murr, age 75, of Bedford, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. A wife, mother, nana, faithful friend, and devout Christian, she leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, laughter, and unwavering faith that continues to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Born on December 15, 1950, in Houston, Texas, Sandy’s life led her through many different places before she ultimately found her home in Bedford, Texas. Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life, shaping the way she loved others, extended grace, and faced both joys and hardships with strength and hope. Two of the greatest hardships Sandy faced in life were a breast cancer diagnosis at age 45 and the death of her daughter, Sharon, in 2010. Surviving both gave her the strength to raise two grandchildren, finding purpose and joy in giving them the love, stability, and encouragement they needed and her greatest title, Nana.
One of Sandy’s joys and proudest accomplishments was her 53-year marriage to her beloved husband, John F. Murr. She often spoke with pride about the life they built together and the love they shared through more than five decades of marriage. Together, they navigated life’s celebrations and sorrows hand in hand, creating a family rooted in love, faith, and unwavering support. The devotion they shared served as an example to all who knew them.
In addition to her devotion to family, Sandy faithfully served the majority of her career at Life Outreach International. Her time at LOI was an extension of her faith and desire to help others. Through dedicated service, she supported a ministry committed to sharing the love of Christ, providing hope and assistance to people in need around the world.
Sandy enjoyed reading, shopping, traveling, and finding joy in life’s simple pleasures. Those closest to her knew of her fondness for shopping malls and most recently QVC packages that frequently arrived at the door. One of her favorite traditions was having her husband, John, return the purchases that perhaps seemed like a good idea at the time. It became a lighthearted part of their marriage and perfectly reflected Sandy’s vibrant personality and John’s enduring patience.
To know Sandy was to know her quick wit, strong points of view, and exceptionally kind heart. She never hesitated to say what she felt or “Tell it like it is,” often delivering it with humor and impeccable timing. Her honesty was refreshing, her laughter contagious, and her compassion genuine. Sandy stood firmly in her convictions while extending grace and generosity to others.
Above all else, Sandy treasured the people God placed in her life. She is survived by her devoted husband, John F. Murr; her sons, John M. Murr and his husband, Anthony, and James D. Murr and his wife, Krista; her beloved grandchildren, Josh Clark and Justin Clark, who brought tremendous joy and pride to her life; her dog, Audrey, whose companionship brought comfort and happiness to her days; her dear friend and bestie, Natalie Harris, whose friendship and daily conversations were a constant source of laughter, support, and love; and the many members of her extended family with whom she spoke nearly every day and held close to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Baugh and Joyce Dillard Baugh, and by her cherished daughter, Sharon Murr. Though these losses brought profound sorrow, Sandy carried the love and memories of those she had lost with grace and steadfast faith throughout her life.
The family finds comfort at this time through Sandy’s extended family, deep friendships and each other. She will be missed and lovingly remembered.
And did you get what you wanted from this life, even so?
I did.
And what did you want?
To call myself beloved, to feel myself beloved on the earth.
