Tino was born on November 8, 1951 to parents Filemon and Lillian Valdez in Dallas, Texas. As a lifelong Texan, Tino contributed to the community through his work as a business owner. He owned and operated Planet Slix in Deep Ellum for 10 years, owned and managed the Newcastle Apartments in Lower Greenville for 25 years, and Paloma on Main Street in Grapevine for 17 years.
Tino was raised at his Dads ranch in Bristol, TX where he acquired a knowledge and love for horses, guns, and trucks (a country boy at heart).
His favorite memories were taking his daughter, Sophia, to her Rodeo competitions. Being a very proud dad, Tino would share every video of Sophia with friends on Facebook. Tino was a member of Texas Gun Experience where he enjoyed the gun range every week with his sister, Michel. On the top of his long list of his favorite joys in life are riding Harleys and being the designated pie baker at every family holiday dinner.
Tino’s memory lives on through his wife Julie Valdez, daughter Sophia Valdez, mother Doris Lillian Valdez, sister Michel Fusella, brother Aaron Valdez, nieces Sinead Valdez Willard and Natasha Valdez, and nephews Nygel Fusella, Joshua Valdez and Adrian Valdez.
Tino was preceded in death by his grandmother Victoria Valdez, father Filemon Valdez, and his brothers Filemon Valdez, Jr. and Rigoberto Valdez.
A Memorial Service will be held at J.E. Foust and Son Funeral Home on Friday, November 10th at 5:00 PM at 523 South Main Street, Grapevine, Texas 76051.
