In the late 60's early 70's, I attended a couple of seminars lectures of Mr Briloff, purchased a couple of his books, and have always regarded him as a scholar in the field of accounting and a hero. William P. McMillen, Delmar New York

In my early years as an accounting professor, I required for my Intermediate Accounting courses the books of "Honest Abe": Unaccountable Accounting; More Debits Than Credits; The Truth About Corporate Accounting. While I was an accounting professor at New York University, I had the honor of meeting Professor Briloff at his Baruch College office. He was an inspiration.

Abe was a giant and it has been my good fortune have known him and have many conversations with him. His compassion, courage and foresight was inspirational. We won't see the likes of him again, He will live on in our hearts forever.

Abe was a friend of my beloved late father, David Norr. I am so grateful for both the professional rapport and friendship they shared. Both possessed many of the same ideals, particularly a strong focus on accounting ethics and principles. Abe's independence and fearless probing benefited the masses. His passing is truly a loss for all.

Professor Briloff was a thorn in the side of those who need a thorn in their sides. Good man down.

I have been an investment manager for more than 40 years. Early in my career I heard Abe speak at the NY Society of Security Analysts. He advised investors not to "patronize" companies that use shoddy accounting methods. I have tried my best to follow his advice, which has saved my clients many millions of dollars over the years. He was an intellectual and ethical giant!
