Dr. Alan C. Weseley passed away at home on October 23rd, 2022 after a long battle with dementia. Son of Harry and Shirley Weseley and twin brother of Martin, he is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sandra, his adoring children, Mitchell, Peter, and Allyson, their spouses, Randie, Lisa and Sara, and his eight grandchildren, Charlotte, Tamar, Talia, Lily, Olivia, Emma, Kate and Eli.
Dr. Weseley was an ophthalmologist who practiced in Manhattan and Brooklyn for 45 years. He was a surgeon director and chief of the Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology department at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary for three decades. At that institution and Lenox Hill Hospital he helped train and inspired hundreds of ophthalmology residents. He will be remembered and missed by the countless patients whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Shriners Hospital for Children, or St. Jude Children's Hospital would be appreciated.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Noon at Riverside-Nassau North Chapels, 55 North Station Plaza, Great Neck, NY
