SHAPIRO—Carol Reuter, nee Feinberg, Roslyn Heights, NY, 87, librarian died peacefully in her sleep, July 13. Born in Newark NJ, Carol attended Smith College where she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Society, She was a writer and editor who worked at Seventeen magazine and Doubleday Publishing. She wrote two novels and co-authored a cookbook. She later earned a Masters in Library Science from C.W. Post University and worked many years in the Children’s Department at Bethpage Public Library. Towards retirement, she organized educational programs for seniors through the Nassau Country Library Association. Carol was a dedicated musician and scholar of antiquity. She was an active member in the local chapter of the Archeological Institute of America. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Reuter and step-children, Amy Moffatt, Jill Erichsen and David Shapiro, their spouses, six grandchildren, and her companion, David Marx. Private services were held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Boston University Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders.
