David was born in London, England and grew up in Kent during World War II. After graduating university, he moved to South Africa to begin his career in mining engineering. That career would further leave David to travel the world extensively and to reside in Cyprus, Australia and Canada before settling in the US.
In 1977, David married his soulmate and love of his life, Sue. They welcomed their daughter, Rachel, three years later.
In 1985, David moved away from mining engineering to establish his own environmental engineering company, DEK Consulting Inc. David consulted with numerous school districts across Long Island with the aim of helping to make schools safer for children.
David is survived by his wife, Sue, his daughter, Rachel, his sister-in-law, Jane, his son-in-law, Peter, his granddaughter, Amelia, nieces, a nephew and friends.
