We just heard about Donald and are so saddened. We remember good times spent with him as we started business back in the 70's. We sold shoes from Peerless Footwear and blouses from Cindy Collins at the flea market. Although we haven't been in touch in years, we will always have fond memories of Donald and the entire Helfman family. So sorry, Gail and Ted Fass

Lenore and Jerry, I was so saddened to hear of Donald's passing. I hadn't seen him for many years but still remember first meeting him when I moved to RVC in 4th grade. His ready smile and cosmic personality made him an instant friend! Even after all these years I have fond memories of riding bikes with Andy, Barry, Joel and him. He will be missed by all who knew him. Prayers and good thoughts to you all. Michele (Lockwood)

Few people had a presence like Donald. Loud and bold you had to notice him when he entered a room. It has been many years since we last saw each other, but he is impossible to forget. My sympathies to his family.

Donald was truly "the Don." He was a generous, loving and charismatic leader to all of his friends. I know how much he loved his family and I was fortunate to have known him all these years. My love and condolences to jane, dennis, jerry and the rest of the family. Doug Mark (Los Angeles)

Dear Lenore and Jerry,
I just heard of Donald's passing and cannot begin to find the words to express my sympathies to you both and to your family. Your handsome Donald had such a presence about him. I've known him since the first grade, and even then his personality was larger than life. He is now at peace.
My love and thoughts are with you. Love, Julie Hoffman Klein (Muriel Goldberg's daughter)

Lenore and Jerry,

Mike and I just learned about Donald, and we are heartsick. Though we had not seen Donald and Dennis and their beautiful families for far too many years, our memories are of love, laughter and true devotion to family. Please know that you are in our thoughts and we love you very much.

Sandi Kaplan and Mike Murray.

The Lord is my shepherd, i shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the prescence of my enemies.
You annoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.

I am at a loss of words...Although I haven't been back to Rockville Centre in over 30 years, my growing up years with Donald, have forever been and will continue to be cherished memories. My thoughts are with his family--Michael Katz
