Edie and my Mother were best friends since 4th grade, and she and Murray were best friends of my parents for life.  We always lived just doors from one another, celebrating all the holidays and many milestones together.

Edie was always like a second Mother to me.  I could turn to her for anything, and did so, especially after my parents passed.  She was my most treasured source of knowledge, wisdom, insight and empathy, and helped with with so many important decisions in life.

Edie was a tremendously accomplished professional in the field of special education.  "Dr. Wolf," as we affectionately called her, established programs and consulted around the world, helping to make a significant difference in the lives of countless children.

Edie loved her family beyond words.  Married to her love, Murray, for 70 years, they cared for one another deeply.  And Jen, you always meant the world to her.  Edie was enormously fond of her entire family and was thrilled to watch the little ones grow up.  She rejoiced in their many accomplishments.

Edie was the kindest, most compassionate, caring and generous human being I will ever know.  Another side of her was that she simply loved puppies of all varieties, even qvelling over ours when she'd hear barking over the phone from 3,000 miles away.

The extent to which we will miss Edie is beyond words.  Murray and Jen, our thoughts are with you at this most difficult of times.  May you, and may all who knew and loved Edie be comforted by many warm and inspiring memories.  She will be in our hearts always.

Edie was my Mother's best friend since 4th grade, and she and Murray were my parents' best friends for life.  Our families lived within walking distance of each other nearly forever, and I have wonderful memories of our sharing all the holidays and special occasions together.  We were close beyond words. 
 
Edie was always my "second Mother," a close source of wisdom, guidance and comfort, even more so after my parents' passed.  Her friendship was profoundly touching and meaningful.  

Edie was filled with compassion for humanity and enormously accomplished professionally, with so many lives impacted by her ground breaking and important work in special education.  She cared deeply for her family, loved watching the little ones grow into accomplished adults.  And I remember her as a preeminent lover of dogs, so genuinely happy around them.  

I am forever grateful to have had Edie as such an integral part of my life.  Our hearts go out to Murray and Jen at this difficult time.  May you, and may we all be comforted by many fond and inspiring memories.  She will always be with us.
