Elaine Schwartz

Elaine Schwartz, 87, of Great Neck NY, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2017. Elaine was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, where she met Jack, her devoted husband of 61 years. They lived in East Meadow, NY, where they raised their family, until Jack's passing in 2010.

Elaine loved travel, the theater, reading, classic movies, Frank Sinatra, and throughout her life, she loved to dance. She took great delight in her children, Diane, David (Toni), Jeffrey (Jean), and Gary (Cynthia). She found special delight in her grandchildren, Erin, Hannah, Erica, Daniel, Casey, and Jesse, and she adored her great grandchildren, Henry, Zoe, and Gabriela.

The last 7 years of her life, Elaine very happily resided in the Atria, Great Neck. She had a very friendly relationship with the other residents, and greeted everyone with her signature, "Hello, Darling". She developed a warm relationship with her aides (Lily and Angela), and the Atria staff, who treated her with affection and kindness.

Donations in Elaine's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America, New York, N.Y. (https://alzfdn.org/) Graveside service Sunday, 11am at Mt. Ararat Cemetery in Lindenhurst, NY, immediately followed by shiva at the home of Jeffrey Schwartz in Great Neck, NY.
