Erika Novick passed away November 23rd at her home in Albertson, NY where she had lived for over 60 years. Erika was born July 28, 1931 in Karlsruhe, Germany and fled with her older sister and parents shortly after Kristalnacht when she was 7 years old. The family settled in Woodside Queens. She attended Queens college, worked in magazine publishing, raised a family, and returned to magazine publishing before retiring at age 64. In retirement she volunteered at the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center in Glen Cove, NY, played bridge, and travelled with her partner Moe Stern. She had a very positive attitude towards life and did not let setbacks get her down. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She is predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Marvin Novick and her sister, Hanna Hartman. She is survived by her children Howard Novick and Stephanie Elgort and their respective spouses Sue and Douglas, her grandchildren Melanie, Daniel and his wife Maygan, and Zachary.
