Most devoted and loving wife, “Etty” now joins Lou (Lew) Varon her cherished husband of 54 years in eternal peace.
We adore our Mother and best friend who spoke to each of us almost every day of our lives. While the loss of our Mother for Steve, Jay, and her favorite, daughter Merryl and their respective spouses Beth, Loren & Frank is so very deep, we take comfort in knowing she went on her own terms and did not suffer.
Esther so enjoyed being a grandmother to Dana, Jason, Elliot, Emily & Jonathan. Grandma’s spirit will live on and guide each of them heart to heart, Soul to Soul forever.
Esther was a loving sister to Irving Abraham and friend to his late wife Diane who was taken too soon, and is so sorely missed each day. As “Aunt Etty” to Jennifer and Mindy, the many great memories of time spent together between them and the love shared will nourish their days and nights.
Daughter to Joseph and Mary Abraham Mom took on so much responsibility as a child helping to raise her brother and helping her Dad during & after Dear Mary’s life was taken, all too young.
Our Mother truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; obsessed (in a good way) with her love and protection of family always first on her list.
Mom’s circle of friends was vast and enduring with many going back to her young adulthood in the Bronx strolling baby carriages in the park by Fordham Hill. Her long list of friends kept in touch almost daily if not multiple times a day. A simple “What’s Doin?” Would start it all every day every time!
And then there was mahjong and cards with the girls spanning her days in the Bronx. Then Bayside, then Jericho and next North Shore Towers, sprinkle in the Florida house & and she had one heck of a ride!!
Everyone knew Etty as being so very elegant, so beautiful, always so well put together (And So Quickly), so photogenic, with your beautiful welcoming smile. To those who knew her, look up and send her a kiss.
Dear Etty, we your loving family respect, love and admire the dignity with which you lived your life. You were a “Natural” in every role you took on, Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandma and Friend to all! We will draw strength and wisdom as time goes by from the way in which you lived your life. Mom, we will do as you say and always “Remember the Good Times” (and make some new ones!)
Words are not enough to express our sentiment that you were simply the greatest most loving trusted friend we all could have ever dreamed possible!
We can never say goodbye, only so long for now, until we meet again, we miss you so much!
We are overjoyed you are with Daddy & Your Mom & Dad and all your family and friends in an even better place in eternal peace and happiness.
Forever our Love, Forever in our Heart, Forever Grateful, Until We See You Again!
